Private Capital is the private investment group of Columbia Partners L.L.C. Investment Management. With over $250 million currently under management, Private Capital invests both directly in mid to later stage, privately-held growth companies and in select private equity and venture funds. Our Private Capital Management Team has over 80 years of collective private investment and transactional experience.

Private Capital creates tailored programs for our clients to invest their allocations in the private equity asset class. Through these efforts, we make growth capital available to high quality mid to later stage companies and to premier private equity fund managers.

We look for investment opportunities that provide compelling upside potential while allowing for the protection of invested capital. We look to invest in industry areas where our management team has had experience and success including communications, telecommunications, media, healthcare and energy. Private Capital seeks opportunities to invest $5 million to $40 million in each portfolio company or fund.

Columbia Partners Private Capital serves as QPAM (Qualified Professional Asset Manager) and we act as fiduciaries for our clients. We invest on behalf of our investor clients with full discretion and manage investments from inception to liquidity.
